He was born in Igualada on 29th May 1913. He and his family moved to Barcelona in 1956, where he lived until he died.
He dedicated his whole life to his school. He was a vocational master. He was History and Literature teacher, both in Igualada and in Barcelona. Before he retired he worked with Maristes Brothers. He was closely bound to Catalonia Pia school: his brother, Father Magí Valls, was a great Piarist as well as his son.
In Igualada he was one of the most important promoters of the Three Wise Men Procession, with the aim of making everybody happy: children and grown-ups. In 1943 he created a character that is still alive in Igualada: Patge Faruk. In 1953 he wrote the lyrics for his hymn. On 28th December 1987 he still attended one of the events of the Three Wise Men celebration: the presentation commentary of the book «Pieces of History of Igualada's Three Wise Men» (Retalls d'història dels Reis d'Igualada ).
He died in Barcelona on 28th December 1991, the same day that Patge Faruk arrives in the town every year.
